FAQs

What is the length of a typical appointment?
The appointment takes up to 45 minutes. This is a longer appointment than most other Podiatry Clinics. However, we feel that this allows plenty of time to fully assess your feet and provide individually focussed treatments. Our customers tell us this is why they recommend us.

Do you offer orthotic or insole treatments?
Yes, our podiatrists are trained to carry out musculoskeletal (biomechanical) assessments of your feet. If necessary they can prescribe orthotics (orthoses) or insoles as well as stretching and strengthening exercises. Treatments are available for musculoskeletal conditions that affect the feet such as plantar fasciitis (policeman’s heel), fallen arches and Morton’s neuroma.

Orthotic treatments

Verruca treatment
Do you offer verruca treatments?
Verrucae arise as a result of a virus infection, and like the common cold they can only clear up when your body’s immune system fights off the virus. The treatment consists of removing the overlying dead skin to help relieve pain. Then advice is given on how you can give your body’s immune system the best chance of fighting off the virus and healing the verruca.

How long does the hard skin and corn removal last for?
Each client will be offered a treatment plan that is tailored to their particular needs. Most patients find that they are free from corns and hard skin for six to eight weeks.

Are the treatments painful?
Treatments such as hard skin and corn removal are delivered within the layer of skin that has no nerve supply, therefore skilled removal should be completely pain free. Conditions such as ingrowing toenails may be tender to treat, however the relief experienced following treatment more than compensates.

I am sensitive to touch, will it tickle?
Podiatrists are trained to hold feet in a firm and professional way. Even people who have ticklish feet find the treatment comfortable.

Should I get my GP to refer me to book an appointment?
A GP’s referral is not required to book an appointment. Appointments are available early morning, day time and weekends, so you can book your appointment at a time that fits with your availability.

Are there free NHS treatments available?
We do not provide free NHS treatments; however, we are registered with HCPC regulatory body which means we comply with the standards that most healthcare insurance companies require.

Are you qualified Podiatrists and Chiropodists?
Yes, we qualified with a first-class honours BSc degree in Podiatry.
